These Prairie dogs live right down the road from us. Aren't they just the cutest things ever?
Who would have guessed that I would see a black tailed whistle pig in Alaska.

There he blows.... but look there are two of them swimming along. Only in Alaska.......
A whale.......this one is from the air as well but you can see them from the shore, too.

This is a picture D. took on one of his flights. I find it pretty incredible how clear the water is around here.

So what's in your backyard???? Well, here is what is in mine.....
There are a ton of really neat hiking trails all over the place. Trees as far as the eye can see and lots of critters.
I can see Mt. Barometer from my back window.... How cool is that.


These are some of the taller mountains that we can't get to, due to no road..... The cows just run around freely without a fence and will often stand in the middle of the road.

I thought it was a wild horse for a minute but it actually got loose and was running around on a hiking trail. We drove to the end of the road. I am not kidding the road simply ends.....and that is how far you can drive in Kodiak.
I've been very busy painting. Not much fun but I needed to bring some kind of sunshine indoors.

Our 5th one or so. Isn't he great........ these are amazing birds. More pictures will follow once I have a better internet connection.

Seattle, nestled in between beautiful hills and next to lake Washington. What a city, I had no idea how nice it would be. In short.... Seattle rocks.
Up on the hills there are hundreds of nice houses with a great view. These homes sell for 1 million plus.
This is Pike 's market a market which has 600 different stores ranging from fresh fish to clothing.
The Seattle Troll is the guardian of one of the bridges leading into the city. The VW bug he is holding is actually a timecapsule.

These are the houseboats on lake Washington and they sell for around 600,000. There are 800 of these around the lake. Snoqualmie Falls...... very impressive and not cluttered with tourists.
One of the Mountains outside of Seattle I believe it is Mt. Si. I would not mind living here at all it was just so amazing.

Here birdie,birdie...... let me just say do not try to pet them, they really don't like it.
Seattle is the second largest wine producing state in the US. And of course we had to try some of the wine they make. Very tasty, and I was very glad we were on a tour bus and not driving. Needless to say the crowd on the bus was much more fun after touring the wineries. Look at all of these filled wine botttles just waiting for me......
Yes, we had a lot of fun in Seattle I would highly recommend this destination to anyone. We were very impressed with the city and the people (and of course the wine). Tomorrow at this time we will be in Alaska. How crazy is that??????!!!!!!!

Hello all, we made it to St. Louis and our cats are a little stressed out but still alive................ we are officially without a home, a car, and soon without cell phones.







So this is the St. Louis Arch it stands about 600 and some feet high and you can even go inside of it and ride up to the observation deck. Who would want to do that?









Just in case you ever wanted to know how to brew beer this is how it is done. We learned this at the Budweiser brewery tour. (Amazingly the tour was free)









I had no idea that Budweiser/Busch made so many different products; however I am not a Budweiser drinker by any means.











The best part of the tour.... the horses of course.
Thes Kleidsdales stand 6 feet tall at the shoulders. I take that back, the best part of the tour was the free beer at the end. I would usually never be caught drinking a Bud but free is free after all.






I know I said I was not going to go up there but a few beers later I gathered the courage. In order to get to the top you have to climb into an enclosed capsule it was really strange but four minutes later we reached the top. Here is a shot of the 2 seconds I spent on the observation deck before demanding to return to the bottom.






A view from the top too bad there wasn't a game at the time..... but who cares the Tigers were not playing.....
Tomorrow we will fly to Seattle I wonder what the odds are that it will rain while we're there.
