So since it was sunny this morning I washed the truck.....look how shiny and clean.....
I had to take a picture because around here she'll only stay clean until I go driving around.
By the way, this is where we live..... as soon as I was done washing the truck the rain clouds started rolling in....figures!

My first Salmon. Yes, I did catch it...unfortunately not with my own fishing rod. Actually this is my 5th catch of the day but the first 4 tore the fishline off my rod and took off with my lures or hooks not sure what you call them...
So finally I caught one and got to reel him in.....no worries the fishy was unhooked and released.
This is funny... Beth caught one of my lures. That supposedly never happens but it did happen today. I wonder what the odds are.

Three of the fish became dinner victims and we took them home....not my fishy he got to swim a little longer and therefore I am not responsible for the death of the above fish. Can you see how one of them has kind of a hump on the back? I guess Salmon grow a hump on their backs after they spawn and then they die...that's kinda sad....I learned something new today.

And this is where the fish ended up....on our plates for dinner......it was soooo good. So this is the first time I had some freshly caught Salmon and I would highly recommend it.

It has been raining for over a week now and finally there was something to do...the Salmonberry wine fest. So Beth and Zach picked me up and we drove through wind and rain but it's better than sitting at home. Yes, Kodiak has it's very own winery. If it looks like I'm very wet and cold... I truly am.
This was the frozen Salmon toss. Just the thought of having to touch a frozen wet fish made me feel even colder. It was pretty wild how far some of this fish flew through the air.
These are some of the local drummers and they sounded pretty good even with the pouring rain. So now I'm sitting back at home drinking hot chocolate, trying to warm up....and it's the middle of July........somebody send me some sunshine......

Hi guys, sorry not recent cool pictures..... it's been very cold and rainy here so I kind of feel like hiding under a curtain, too.
Started work...yes it's work and otherwise have just been bumming around.
Anyhow I think Sasha has the right idea. Hopefully it will stop raining and I can go take more interesting photos..... so bare with me.

So yesterday we had the bright idea to hike up a mountain and we kept walking and walking, and every time we thought we were almost there, the trail just kept on going....... This is a mountain called Old Woman but I'm not so sure an old woman could make it up this hill.

A view from half way up. I just wish it would have been a clear day out but nevertheless it was pretty amazing. Our friends made it too.... thankfully we had dogs to help pull us up and down the mountain......
I am not sure who was more tired the dogs or us.
And we finally made it to the top I think it was definitely worth walking all the way. Going back down on the other hand was not so much fun but next on the agenda are several of the other mountains. So really there are many great things you can do in and on Kodiak. Guess what...we get to live here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 4th..... yes we do have fireworks in Kodiak. Actually they shoot them off at midnight on the third.
Kodiak at midnight....it's still semi bright out.
Another great eagle photo. Like I said you can't go more than five minutes without seeing one of them.
We saw these wild Buffalo while driving to the other end of the road. Well, they are not really wild which means somebody owns them but they do just stroll around in the middle of the road.
Baby Buff.......
